John Stachel ( / y t æ tʃ əl / ; narozený 29 března 1928) je americký fyzik a filozof vědy .

Životopis

Stachel získal doktorát na Stevens Institute of Technology v fyziky o tématu v obecné teorii relativity v roce 1958. Poté, co držel různé učitelské místo na Lehigh University a University of Pittsburgh , odešel v roce 1964 na univerzitě v Bostonu , kde byl profesorem fyziky až do jeho emeritation .

V roce 1977 se Stachel stala první redaktorkou Einstein Papers Project , poté na Bostonské univerzitě . Během jeho funkčního období byly publikovány první dva svazky (z plánovaných pětadvaceti) Sebraných spisů Alberta Einsteina .
