Poté, co sloužil jako mechanik tryskových motorů ve vzdušných silách a bývalý majitel restaurace a salonku, se Owl Goingback stal v roce 1987 spisovatelem na plný úvazek. Napsal řadu románů , dětských knih , povídek a článků v časopisech . Má také duchem psané romány pro celebrity.
Goingbackova kratší beletrie se objevila v mnoha antologiích, například Tales from the Great Turtle , Confederacy of the Dead , Phantoms of the Night , Excalibur , The Book of Kings , When Will You Rage? , Once Upon a Midnight , Quest to Riverworld , Grails: Visitations of the Night , and South from Midnight .
